Renovation of an apartment

Located on the third floor of a 1980s building, the apartment in the Zvezdara area of Belgrade was originally divided into six small rooms.
By removing the unnecessary walls and relocating the kitchen, the new design of the apartment offers an open space that enhances the presence of the outside cityscape.
The challenge was to fit in all the desired functions and storage, and at the same time design an apartment with open plan and a view from every part of the apartment.
A bookshelf  in the middle of the apartment physically separates the living area from the kitchen and strengthens the axis from the entrance towards the window, but keeps the visual connection between the two spaces.
The mirrored sliding doors by the entrance and in the hallway enlarge the space and reflect the natural light.
Gray stained oak floor, rough concrete finish areas in combination with white stained wood and light see-through curtains, are the main components used in the interior.
