manufacturing enterprise is a capstone project in our major in which we are tasked with designing , manufacturing and selling up to ten production models of our design .
The plant crew is a hydroponic grower designed around living spaces . It is meant to be a center piece to a living room or home office as well as being a functional planter tailored towards enthusiasts and newcomers to the hobby of hydronic growing .
Prototyping to manufacturing
our market research of end users and existing products allowed our group to choose an appropriate material and manufacturing method to see our project from cardboard prototype to a production model . All non purchased parts are made of laser cut acrylic . the laser cutter was used for prototyping and mass production , parts which needed to be bent were done so with an acrylic bender .
