MARIE CURIE - 100 years of Nobel
 
2011 was declared by the UNESCO the International Year of Chemistry and simultaneously celebrated the centenary of the award of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Marie Curie for their discovery of the elements radium and polonium, by the isolation of radium and the study of this element and compounds.
The exhibition Life and Work of Maria Skłodowska-Curie from the Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw, in its Portuguese version, was the responsibility of the Department of Chemistry, University of Minho and was brought to the city of Braga under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. This version also included The Portuguese Disciples of Madame Curie (contribution of the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra and the Science Museum of the University of Lisbon).
