Asian cultural stereotyping is very overlooked in our society and also very relevant to the current pandemic. With the help of ten other Asian-Americans of various cultural backgrounds, I’ve created this campaign to bring awareness to the stereotypes Asian-Americans receive throughout their lifetime.

Throughout this process, I surveyed ten Asian-Americans of various cultural backgrounds. Half of them were adopted as a young child, the other half grew up in a predominantly Asian household. The surveys truly allowed me to gain insight on how much larger an issue this is then many people think. Growing up, I tended to feel ashamed of my ethnicity and the parts of me that made me different from the rest of my friends. Now, I embrace those features all the way from my chink eyes to my height. I hope though this project it allows outsiders and even those of Asian descent to see the bigger picture and gain knowledge on the cultural stereotypes we tend to forget about.
