In 2005 I participated with this typeface for the call Tipo-Q, organized and convened by Centro Cultural de Diseño La Mancha, in a tribute to the 400 years since the first edition of «Don Quijote de La Mancha». This work was highlighted in 10 finalists.
The aim of this typeface is to merge two historical moments in the form and style of writing, on the one hand the uncial calligraphy, and on the other the Roman serif that was established as the universal standard for continuous text typefaces at the time. It is intended for use as a title font. An earlier version of this font was developed in two versions of the equivalent weight and italic. The current version, reworked from the initial version, is intended to be developed in several type weights. The family includes some extended range glyphs such as various Caps swashes and style alternatives for upper and lower case, standard and discretionary ligatures, old numerals and other OpenType features.
Very recently, in May 2024 this project was updated by adding 6 new style and weight versions, extrabold and light weight versions and their respective italic pairs to all weights completing 8 fonts of the typeface family.
En 2005 participé con esta tipografía en la convocatoria Tipo-Q, organizada y convocada por el Centro Cultural de Diseño La Mancha, en un homenaje a los 400 años de la primera edición de «Don Quijote de La Mancha». Este trabajo fue destacado entre los 10 finalistas.
El objetivo de esta tipografía, es fusionar dos momentos históricos en la forma y estilo de escritura, por un lado la caligrafía uncial, y por otro la serifa romana que se estableció como estándar universal para las fuentes tipográficas de texto continuo en la época. Está pensada en función de su funcionalidad como fuente para títulos. Una versión anterior de esta fuente se desarrolló en dos versiones del peso equivalente y cursiva. La versión actual, replanteada de la versión inicial, está proyectada para ser desarrollada en varios pesos tipográficos. La familia incluye algunos glifos de rango ampliado como varios Caps swashes y alternativas de estilo para mayúsculas y minúsculas, ligaduras estándar y discrecionales, numerales antiguos y otras características OpenType.
Muy recientemente, en mayo de 2024 se actualiza este proyecto agregando 6 nuevas versiones de estilo y peso, se adicionan las versiones de peso extrabold y light y sus respectivos pares itálicos a todos los pesos completando 8 fuentes de la familia tipográfica
