STATEMENT
Art has always been a tool to help me express myself, even in my younger years. Over time, I discovered a love for creating movie posters, book covers, and album covers. It wasn’t until I attended college that I really learned that I had an interest in design. For me, the digital mediums such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator offer a mixture of comfortability and flexibility when it comes to my design style. The world would be bland without design, so I want to try my best to bring more vintage appeal to design to pull people in. Like most things in life, it can have a price. So, let me ask you, what would you pay for a memory?  These works contain a heavy influence from the 80’s and vintage styles from the 90’s and 00’s. The risk taking and the explosive unconventional design drew me in instantly.  It takes me back to my memories as a child and how influential my grandmother was. She was my primary caretaker for my formative years and her love for 80’s and 90’s pop culture formed the basis of my design process for this show. I wanted to focus on honoring each decade and what made them stand out. I looked into the different aspects such as music, design and movements that made each memorable. In a way, I am taking back nostalgic memories and not waiting for companies to sell their husk back to me. So, let me ask again, what would you pay for a memory
