Creative Draping (explorations)

Fluting is done by cutting bias strips of fabric and putting them on a dress form. It is seen a lot of times in haute couture garments. The strips are placed at an equal distances which creates an effect as shown in the image above.
Ruching is when a fabric is gathered along a seam to provide decoration and fullness.
Cascading, a circular ruffle is created from a circular piece of fabric rather than a straight strip.

Ruffle and cascades drape are pleasing to the eye. They are dispersed evenly and smoothly throughout garment.
Fashion Deconstruction is a deliberate attempt to make a garment appear raw and imperfect, a form of  Anti-Fashion statement if you will.
Here for exploration, an old t shirt and a pair of denim jeans has been used.
Gathering is a sewing technique that reduces the length of piece of fabric, so a longer piece can match and be attached to a shorter one. It is used yo manage, as much as disguise, a source of fullness- such as on a cuff or sleeve - and can also pinch a skirt into a waistband or bodice.
Pleats are a fold or doubling of fabric that is pressed, ironed or creased into a place. They add an even greater fullness to a shape.
Subtraction Cutting, is a method based on the planning and reinterpretation of pattern making through Aerial Vision.
Making use of negative spaces in order to achieve new and unexpected volumes and forms, a new way of conceive pattern design through modeling on the body
TR pattern cutting means Transformational Reconstruction, this is a form of origami pattern cutting which translates into immediate and intuitive 3D creations, in opposition to the more conventional way of drafting.
