Truck parks tend to be very separate spaces at service stations. They are often physically separate from other parking and can be obscured with hedges or barriers. Some service stations are designed with a back entrance for the use of truck drivers.

These images were taken over the course of several trips, in the truck parks of service stations on the M1 between Tibshelf and Leicester Forest East. Drivers resting in their cabs were approached; if they consented, they were photographed next to their truck.

These images were taken for a group show at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield, S. Yorks, entitled 'The motorway service station as a destination in its own right' (the title of a collection of poems by Simon Armitage).
