REQUIEM FOR EXTRAVGANCE
Final project for One Year Fashion Styling course at IED São Paulo
Inspired mostly by the movie Marie Antoniette (2006), the purpose of Requiem for Extravagance a is, above all, to remind us of the importance of living a moment of pause for self-care, for allowing and freeing yourself, living the J.O.M.O. (joy of missing out) and the "dolce far niente". Especially during quarantine, these self-care moments were more necessary than ever, since we all probably lived an emotional turbulence.
Through looks that contrast corsets and romantic pieces with casual and comfortable stay-home pieces, in addition to the innovative ways of using some accessories, the editorial pays homage to the acts of dressing up, being extra, to the creative expression and experimentation in Fashion.
Beyond that, this project is also an open invitation to dream, to express your emotions and inner fantasies, to add a little escapism to our lives. In this way, fashion and the creative expression can be the light at the end of the tunnel in difficult times.
