Selecting a golf ball can be challenging considering there are many models and styles available on the market. Without knowing what you are looking for, you could end up spending a lot of money and choosing the wrong ball. Below are tips to guide you to pick the right golf ball.

1. Find and stick with a model that fits your budget and swing. While it is fun to try new gear and see how it affects your game, be sure to purchase a ball that will help you attain your best scores.

2. Select a golf ball with the right compression rating. For golfers with high swing speeds that surpass 240 yards in the air, compression ratings over 100 are appropriate to help them cover more distance with a ball. Those with slower swing speeds should use balls with a lower compression rating ranging between 80 to 90.

3. Examine your overall skills of the game and identify your weakness before purchasing a golf ball. For instance, if you are always 10 to 15 yards short on your desired driver length or long par-3s, a golf ball designed for achieving an additional distance may be your best bet. Choose a ball designed for an additional spin to assist in hitting additional greens.
