Toktumi -workstation for call centers operators

The current working conditions from a call center are so bad that most of the operators suffer from:
1. physical disorders caused by small desks and improper working position
2. mental disorders caused by high stress level
Noise is the major problem all operators complain of.
While most of the call center companies invoke costs problems, a better working environment can increase the efficiency of the employees and decrease the high rate of resignations. Better trained and experienced employees will then decrease the costs for training and eventually will bring higher profits to the companies.

Toktumi is a work station for call center operators that was developed with these design characteristics:
- user friendly: it's easy to use and intuitive;
- ergonomic: it's comfortable and easy to adjust for each user; it can be used in many working position from sitting to standind;
- space efficient: it occupies as small space as possible and it can be arranged in a various types of layouts to fit each particular space;
- inclusive design: it can be used by both impaired or not impaired operators;
- privacy and protection: because of the back protection, it offer the feeling of privacy and protection from the exaggerated managers supervision;
- acoustic isolation: thanks to the sound-absorbing material it's made of, it can reduce the noise level in the room;
- visual contact: through the multiple layout options it encourages the visual contact and collaboration between colleagues that can help them overcome the verbal abuse from unsatisfied clients;
- emotional design: to give the space a friendly and dynamic atmosphere that matches the users profile: 70% woman, average age 22, students.

A very important social trend is hiring person with disabilities (visual and locomotory) in call centers. This is supported in some countries by the legislation that encourages or sometimes obliges the companies to offer jobs for these person. The impaired person are competent and stable employees, a huge advantage for call centers companies that confronts with lack of qualified workers and high rate of absenteeism.
