The bulk of this painting was done in the first two hours of our painting class. I started by laying out my composition in a thin layer of Burnt Sienna, then I defined shapes and shadows little by little. I also added highlights to the lightest areas to bring dimension into the features. I prefer putting vertical strokes into the background to keep the image from feeling flat.
