This project was about choosing one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It involved creating thematic posters to raise awareness about the selected goal. The idea is to use visual art to educate and sensitize the community about key issues for a more sustainable and equitable future.
I chose the goal of animal welfare due to my interest in promoting responsible and sustainable agricultural practices. I acknowledge the importance of ethical treatment towards animals not only for humanitarian reasons but also for its impact on food security and the economy. I firmly believe that ensuring animal welfare is essential to maintaining agricultural productivity and preserving our natural environment. This approach aims to strike a balance between human needs and respect for all forms of life on our planet, ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.
I based the posters on scans I made of objects and 'trash' using a printer, as the main theme revolves around sustainability and recycling. By repurposing these materials, I aimed to embody the essence of the message within the artwork itself. Utilizing scanned objects and discarded items not only underscores the importance of recycling but also serves as a visual representation of how everyday items can be transformed into something meaningful and impactful, aligning with the overarching theme of sustainability.
In several of the posters, I aimed to play with shapes, thereby creating a resemblance to animal fur. Additionally, I made the focal word of the slogan with fur texture as it reminds us of them.

The colors used in animal textures not only highlight the contrast between the natural and the synthetic but also prompt us to reflect on our connection with the environment. It's as if each hue tells a different story: from the earth's ruggedness to the water's freshness, and the vitality of animal life. These shades intertwine with modernity, constantly reminding us of our belonging to a broader and diverse ecosystem.
In summary, this project creatively emphasizes our dedication to sustainability and global welfare. Through thematic posters utilizing recycled resources, we underscore the importance of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I hope this initiative inspires positive change in our community towards a more equitable and sustainable future.
