TYMO hair straightener
This is a hair straightener designed for TYMO, a Shenzhen based hair care product brand focusing on the North America market. This is an upgraded version of their TYMO ionic which is both more ergonomic and more powerful and efficient. The design focuses on the subtle details of the user experience while also uses a clean and modern visual style that follows the TYMO product line design language and enhanced drastically in aesthetics comparing with the last generation of the product. The hair straightener launched on March, 2023.
First design concepts
Design update
During the design optimizations, we added more none-heated bristles around the outer rim of the brush. This was a safety measure that ensures it is impossible the heat pad to contact users skin directly which also makes it safer that under normal circumstances, users cannot touch the heating pad with their hands even if they intentionally try to do so. The increased number of the bristles also makes combing the hair smoother and more efficient as it can grab a larger area of hair at once.
