problem
during the modern kind of adventure called "bike packing" most of the cyclers use apps on their smartphone to track their trip and distance. this leads to a high battery consumption and requires at least one battery charge per day. bike packers that chose the option of camping overnight instead of a hostel don’t always have access to electricity
solution
a cycler's charging station. the purpose of the portable wind turbine is to charge the smartphone during long distance bike packing trips. by using the wind which is generated during cycling a generator transforms the wind energy into electricity. an usb port enables the user interface between cycler/ smartphone and the wind turbine. the product gets installed vertically on the front tube of the bike so as much wind as possible can insert into the turbine.
use
the charging staion has an elastic silicon profile with a flap at both of the ends so it can be installed around the head tube. the flaps are adjustable to each diameter of most head tubed.
the user needs to plug in a usb cable matching to the smartphone into the usb port in the side while the phone itself is positioned in it's case at the handlebar.
