Umpqua Rushing: A Musical Festival

I chose a music festival poster because of my love for music. Art is very important to me and the combination of design and music was too much to pass up. I wanted to give off the feelings of relaxation and nature. I chose the cooler colors as they are my personal favorite, and they do the best job of portraying relaxation. The contrast of light blues on top of darker purples is my favorite combination. The illustrations of a bird with its tail turning into a river is to portray nature. Umpqua is a region of Oregon that has a beautiful river, and I wanted to pay homage to it. The bands I chose are all alternative with most of them having folk roots. The band Blind Pilot has a song called Umpqua Rushing, and I felt they should be the lead band. The song encapsulates the entire vibe I wanted for my event.
