Emoticon is a project I did a few years ago in the role playing game Second Life. It was a programmed cybernetic visual theater based on the emotional theory of Robert Pluchik. His circumplex model of 8 primary bipolar emotions makes connections between the idea of an emotion circle and a color wheel. I extended this theory and tried to create connections not only between colors and emotions but music as well. The visuals and the sound of my videos go step by step through the emotion-color wheel of Pluchik. I mirrored the original footage of the virtual theater to create a mandala for a more hypnotic effect.
