Revive Mangkang | Mixed-Use Bus Terminal

The Mangkang Terminal, a Type A terminal in Semarang City, serves as a hub for land transportation operations and a connection between Semarang City and other cities in Indonesia. Located in the Tugu sub-district far from the city center, it produces a lot of shadow terminals, which clogs up the area with traffic. The number of buses and passengers at the terminal is affected by the COVID-19 epidemic as well. The redesign of Mangkang Terminal was carried out with the Mixed-Use concept in mind, which included the addition of features like a culinary center, souvenir shops, and a public service mall as an economic and social function to revitalize Mangkang Terminal and draw tourists from both outside and inside the city. In addition, the terminal is also inclusive based, adapts to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is connected to the tourism sector, namely the Mangkang Zoo, which is located in front of the terminal.
