During my time on the level 3 Graphic Design course I have completed many projects. An example of this is the album cover project in which we were tasked to design our own album covers, based on our favourite artist. This project was given to us during the second lockdown which was challenging as support was only through online workshops. This challenge allowed me to work on my time management and the ability to self-direct my learning and progression. The inspiration for my designs came from my passion for astronomy and craniomania. The designs were originally sketched out and scanned to illustrator where I vectorised the work. The designs were then transferred into photoshop where I presented my designs on mock ups. Mock ups allow the viewers to see how the design is represented in the real world.

Moving onto my New York Board this was part of my Final Major Project from last year where I had to do a sense of place and I chose New York because of the Vibrant Atmosphere surrounding the city. I had to sketch the buildings on to a piece of A3 paper and collage them and I also drew street signs like my Wall Street sign. I also included pictures of Basketball Teams to show the sports side of NY.

During the start of Level 3 we did a project on the company Patternity. I created 2 abstract Patterns where the inspiration came from items around college, as you can see from my development work presented in my sketchbook. I used photoshop to turn the sketches that I created to develop them into patterns. My final patterns were based on the theme of war. Both Illustrator and photoshop was used to create the artwork.
Currently we are working on a project based on “Manchester”. I have chosen to look into the music industry that created a foundation for the music scene. Designs will focus on festival posters and tickets also creating designs for merchandise.
