Project description
Design and testing of Honeywell TR120 touchscreen wall module for control of installed heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services.
UI
Screen interface
Exhaustive portrait and landscape interface design covering wall controller functionality and user preferences.
Screen assets
Due to the non-dynamic development of visual feedback, each individual interaction required an associated asset to indicate a change to the user.
Iconography
With available package space at a premium, interface translation was requested to be minimal. Iconography became an integral part of the TR120 interface, communicating clear direction and feedback.
Graphic testing
Reduced resolution screen (272x480px) required live graphic testing to ensure clarity and legibility. Connecting a Raspberry Pi directly to a production screen allowed for upload of test assets.
UX
Validation testing
Qualitative research conducted to determine success of UI and icon design. Prototype hosted on tablet at 1:1 via Axure to mirror intended touch interactions.
