I am a trained industrial designer, I have been working as a designer and design manager for the last 20 years. Started out in 1989 in Portugal as an industrial designer working for a large brand consultancy Novodesign, then started my own product development company Grandesign, and till August 2006 worked as a design director and international account manager at Node in Barcelona. I then returned to Portugal and joined Innovagency, a large Internet innovation company, and was part of a spin-off focused on strategic business innovation called ReturnOnIdeas. I then started another company focused on product design innovation called Diverge, I managed a network of Portuguese talented industrial designers called Innotalent and co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to young entrepreneurship called Beta-i. My major client bough Diverge and I joined them to manage his business unit, but I missed the product design and innovation sector.

Now I am back to doing what I do best at Masco Design, design, manage design, use design thinking as a strategic tool, transform with and through the use of design.

I am a creative individual that has learned enough about marketing, engineering and management to translate and mediate design value into business ventures. I am a strong design planner and thinker and I have an entrepreneurial streak in me! Read Less
