Victoria Farr received a MFA from American University in Washington, D.C., in 2006 and a B.A. from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA., in 2004. She isn't sure if either of these pieces of paper are really that helpful, but they were interesting experiences.
She draws and sculpts predominantly in pixels and paper, and her work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums in the US from New York to Houston. She has received several awards for her work in sculpture and painting, including The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center's "Juried Virginia Artists 2009" Award of Excellence, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts 2004-05 Graduate Fellowship.
Her work is largely autobiographical, which could be said of anyone, she thinks. Her overarching goal is to explore her interests in computer technology, metaphysics, and their intersection with the personal, namely, her brain. She incorporates references to many of her interests, memories, and fresh experiences into drawings and sculpture that reflect and explore the idea that everything is actually all the same thing-energy.
