As an illustrator and designer I want to bring my imagination to the world while informing others what is happening in it. I am inspired by pop culture especially in the 60s and 70s, animals, and the cultures, artwork, patterns and architecture of Italy, Ireland, Greece, India, and Spain (and occasionally other countries and cultures around the world). I would love to travel to all these places and create a sketchbook with everything that inspires me. Then use them to make new and more powerful illustrations for publication.
I believe that everybody should know what goes on in the world, and enjoy the little moments and things in life. I value and love the world we live in, and I want to help others see the beauty in it as well.
*What are your greatest assets?
I love to research everything, and I feel like that gets me excited and motivated with each project I take on. I don't give up even when I'm stuck on an idea, and I seek criticism from others so I could make my work even better. Collaborating with other creatives gives me a rush, and working behind the scenes...executing a project from start to finish...is why I love what I do. I am open-minded to everything, and I love to learn and share my knowledge with others.
*What is something you inspire in others?
I try to inspire others to not be limited to possibilities, to be resourceful, to learn about the world around them, and to be creative with whatever they have in order to achieve greatness. I feel that there would be peace on earth if only everyone understood everyone else, so I choose not to judge anyone and hope that positive energy rubs off on others with a smile. I inspire others to live happily, to be positive, and to be motivated, to go mighty, and achieve their life goals.
*How would you describe your current role to an 8-year-old?
I am an illustrator. What do I do? I paint pretty pictures of the world, what it is, and everything and everyone in it!
*If you weren’t in this business, what would you be doing?
I would probably be a veterinarian or a horse trainer because of my love for animals and biology. I'd also be a professional freelance belly dancer.
*What was your first job? (don't worry, some of ours are embarrassing, too. But we learned a lot about work ethics. Did you?)
My first job where I got a paycheck was at George School Stables as a camp councilor and horseback riding instructor at George School Stables. Before that I volunteered at a local horse farm every weekend mucking stalls and taking care of the horses and the farm. Read Less
