BATV

Development of an experimental broadcast design for collegiate TV productions at the University of Cooperative Education Ravensburg, Germany. The focus is on the synergetic combination of theoretical and practical elements of the dual system at university, as well as the linkage between education, economy, university, lecturers, students and instructors.

The visualisation and animation connects the motives and enhances the impression of a synergetic process. The three-dimensional environment offers stylised, dynamic moves and translates the conceptual core of a collage in an audiovisual way. The self-contained environment and the unusual sound intensifies the contrast to any other broadcast.

Sound by Funkstörung.

Annual Exhibition BA Ravensburg 2008

or the 2004 annual exhibition of the Media Design department at the University of Cooperative Education Ravensburg in combination with the Ravensburger Medienpreis, a cross media exhibition concept was developed. Several projectsâ€"from multimedia, graphic design to video productionsâ€"were chosen for this exhibition.

The approach for the visual concept was to transform the term "Media Design" into the "transport" of thoughts, content and emotions. The different works required a consistent structure and design, without coming to the fore. The concept had to provide a conceptional and visual bracket and had to serve as a platform for projects and students.

Blackbird

The Blackbird video is a collaborative music visualization project by Katja Schweiker and Thomas Frenzel. The video was done for Michael Fakeschs audio-visual project called VIDOS"a collection of music visualizations based on Michaels album DOS.

The video‘s design is based on visual samples that quote Michaels auditory style and mixes analog with digital elements"metaphors of the real and the immaterial. It‘s about trying and failure"trying to leave behind, trying to live in a forward-turned way, trying not to resign or surrender, trying to get aware.

The video found its place on the VIDOS DVD release among some of the most renowned motion graphic artists and was already shown at the Austrian sound:frame Festival 2008, at the Festival of Animated Film 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany, and was published by the German electronic music magazine Slices.

Danger Global Warming

About the video
This video is a music visualization project by Thomas Frenzel, German based interdisciplinary designer with a focus on intermedia projects and content generated graphics.

It is build upon a mixture of hand-crafted illustrations and computer generated elements that result in a fusion of artificial and organic matters. The hybrid collage principle enables a visual language that is variant and comparably consistent. Many components are kind of recycled, remixed or sampled and derive from the content of global warming issues or quote the project’s visual communication elements like the Danger Global Warming tape.

The videoâ€"based on the remix by Michael Fakeschâ€"is about creation, followed by urban and industrial sceneries. The process of construction and de-construction reflects the proceeding functionalization and rationalization of the natural environment and society and shows some of the most severe impacts of climate change.

About the Danger Global Warming Project
The Danger Global Warming Project is a multimedia initiative developed by The Blacksmoke Organisation and supported by world-respected film makers, designers, photographers, artists, musicians, actors, writers and more. It has been designed to raise awareness of climate change worldwide with a mix of original images, sound and videos. Internationally acclaimed music artists including Coldcut, Trentemøller, Biosphere and many more have been contributing remixes of the Danger Global Warming theme track. Some of those have been chosen to be visualized by selected video artists.

The whole venture is supposed to subtly attract people and to encourage as many as possible to strongly change their mindset towards climate change.

Annette Brüggemann

Annette Brüggemann is a German author, producer and presenter based in Cologne. As she works for basically auditory media, her portfolio can be seen as a virtual radio station where you can find out about her work and inspiration.

The portfolio’s theme is about the balance and interplay of reduction and redundancy, functionalism and emotionality: The content structure as well as the graphics are both quite simple and reduced compared to the dynamic, variance and emotionality of speech. This results in a synergetic mix of medial and personal characteristics.

BY-AND-BY

The subject is to deal with the pretended controllability of time. A number of co-ordinated processes are shown, each process is repeated inalterably consistent. The user is able to control every process sequence marginally, but without stopping it entirely.

For the observer, the result of an arrangement of transparent, spatially arranged projection screens is an overall pictureâ€"a process landscape. The analysis of multiple processes and spatially seperated levels gives the impression of synchrony of different actions and their synergetic interaction.

Human beings are limited in arranging or organizing time because of the irreversibility of linearity. The installation helps the observer to understand the specific characteristics of time, makes aware the invariability of linear processes and finally inspires reflection of the individual dealing with time.

RISE=

RISE= is an interactive mural, that is based on presenting aspects of the christian and humanist value system.

Street art is known as a form of communication of young people and functions as the symbol of subversive representation of opinions in an urban context via artistic examination. The city as the home of homogenized thinking establishes a visual and conceptional connection to this thesis. It also takes up the problems of a society which is saturated with information, rationalized and functional.

This project wants to define the understanding as a beginning, not as a destination. It is the goal to mediate relevant basic values in a modern way, to further an examination of the origin and the topic as such.

Supported by the foundation of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
