I’m fascinated by the immense diversity of animals and plants, the knowledge of those who inhabit it, American indians and people of African descent. They are highly integrated with nature, working with it, making it part of their lives, respecting it and sharing it. They are based on my memories of visiting La Ensenada de Utria and imagining all the rest of what I didn't see. The images are collaged using original material and botanical drawings done in the 18th and 19th centuries by different artists during a historical expedition led by Jose Celestino Mutis.
