Laura Méndez is a graphic designer, illustrator and keen word inventor based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
She exchanged the sound of the Pacific waves for that of Strawberry Fields and the rest of the decisions were sorted out with a creative flow. From selling candy, being an au pair and organizing trips, she became an eager Design student but the real shift took place when already a graduate Laura read a phrase that would change her trajectory:
A ship in the pier is safe but that's not what ships are built for.
Determined to leave advertising, she set up Estudio Menta in the summer of 2008, undertaking since, her own projects in branding, packaging and illustration.
The focus of her practice is on experimentation. Through a workshop methodology, she features lively colors and natural traces that are representative of her beautifully crafted visual language. Her boutique appeal is in every detail, anchored to the senses.
Laura chooses her clientele as carefully as she chooses coffee; from the essence, delving into the person’s history in order to give it voice. Her space is surrounded by greenery where tranquillity, lightness and joy can be soaked in.
