I was drawn to arts since my early teenage years. Born as the middle child in a family of entrepreneur & artists, I explored music as the first medium & launched a series of alternative rock bands into my early twenties. Being a musician, and surrounded by creative individuals, influenced me to pursue creative fields, specifically photography. I remember flipping through images of a friends' work, and it made a significant impression on me, leading to a complete immersion in the photography world.
Essentially what started as a hobby, led to an intentional pursuit. For 6 years, I lived and breathed photography, working in the commercial, as well as, consumer field.
Then another turn of events emerged. As I was working on many self "web" promo materials, I found myself fascinated with how photographs, graphics, & meaningful contents were being presented visually as branding tools. I was obsessed, & I ended up becoming fascinated with creating a better web experience.
From that, I decided to get more education. Having an extensive background in photography, was a foundation in fostering the skills & experience needed to learn web-design at a much quicker pace. I didn't leave photography behind immediately, but I started off layering design work in addition to photography. I mainly began producing web landing pages, wireframes, brand ID & print design. I then gained skills leading to front-end development, Wordpress, branding, presentation design, and interface design solution. Because of my focus on design, I had to leave my photography career behind, allthough its influence on my work will always be present.
What started as a marketing effort, led to new found passion with all things digitally interactive. The versatility of my experience, has led me to work in both contract and full time work. I have had the privilege to work for such industries as, an award winning ad / brand agencies, Warner Bros. Entertainment, reputable recoding industry, prestigious online press, to an ambitious startup company in L.A. It has been a rewarding experience & I hope to continue growing as a visual communicator.
