What did you want to be when you where a little boy?
I always wanted to stay a little boy, but taller with sideburns
Which websites do you usually visit to get some visual inspiration?
Illustration Mundo and Little Chimp Society are great go-to sources. But usually I find myself tripping over inspiration through Facebook & Twitter
How do you describe your style?
Mixed, having trained as a technical illustrator I went straight into TV animation from college, then worked in kids comics before finding a home in Illustration. It started off with a very mixed bag of influences that I'm constantly trying to reduce into a single voice.
What are your themes in your work?
I like vintage colour schemes. Quite often there's nostalgic angle, especially with my children's book work
Which painting of yours is your favorite?
Usually my last one. Currently I'm very happy with an illustration I did for a recent competition on the theme of "revolution". I used the sign language alphabet as the under lying inspiration
Do you have favorite artists?
Lots! Been a big fan of Nate Williams for a long time. Jim Flora is a great source of inspiration. Gary Baseman, Edel Rodriguez, Gary Taxali, Oliver Jeffers.... so many more. Also my fellow Irish illustrators are all favorites!
