I’m a versatile graphic designer and illustrator, with high aspirations and a passion for design. I am always looking for new creative challenges to take on and accomplish, enjoying and getting involved in all areas of design. I’m inspired by many disciplines, from brand development, packaging design, typography, illustration and editorial design to fashion and interior design.

I’m looking forward to working with many different creative people, although I’m also capable of working alone. I’m a very motivated designer and given the chance I’m hoping to develop my skills and expand my creative knowledge and ideas.

Work Experience

Arnold Clark

Digital Designer

Arnold Clark is quite a large company with around 70 people involved in the Marketing team.

In my first few months in this company I have designed and directed a national campaign through print, vehicle livery, screen, radio and television. This was a huge project which came with a lot of pressure as the turn around time was quite short. However it has been very successful and will continue to run until the end of October 2013.

Working here has been a great experience as I have been able to work with such a large in house team and deliver projects on a national scale.

Paligap

Graphic/Digital Designer

In this role I primarily designed for print however this increasingly became more of a digital role designing, websites, efliers and web banners, which led me to picking up some HTML and CSS experience. I was also account manager for various clients including high-end Glasgow based jeweller Laings and the Ayrshire Hospice.

One of my favourite things about working in Paligap has been working with the team, consisting of account managers, graphic designers, an artworker, web developers and designers. Being part of a tightly knit group like this has helped me build on my communication skills and work better as part of a team.

Traffic

Freelance Graphic Designer

Although only being here a short time I was involved in quite a few projects one of which involved creating hand done typography and illustration for a book jacket design, which is always a pleasure.

Merchant Soul

Graphic Designer

This position was initially a one month internship, so I was quite happy to be asked to stay on for an extra two months. I was working with quite high profile clients such as Southampton FC and Tesco Bank. I was also commissioned to do some photography for New Gorbals Housing Association which was used in their 2011/12 annual report,

Think Creative Design

Graphic Designer

After graduating from the University of Cumbria I applied to do a placement at Think Creative Design in Irvine. Throughout following two weeks there, I designed an alcohol guide booklet for young people for the North Ayrshire Council.

From this project I was asked to stay on as part of the team on a part time/ freelance basis. I was then thrown in at the deep end from the get go, organising huge print runs and dealing with clients directly via, email, phone and in meetings, which was a great experience.

The company has now merged and become See Saw Creative.

Boutique Chic

Lead Designer

I was lead designer for a fashion clothing store in Greenock. I designed the identity, along with stationary, bags and promotional material.

I also directed the campaign photography which involved commissioning a photographer and models for each season. I directed the shoot on location, I then selected and edited the final photographs for that seasons advertising.
