Desert Rose / Bombay Sapphire Glass Competition

Desert Rose - The glass Desert Rose takes inspiration from the precious ingredients and from the refined production technique of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin.
Desert Rose is composed by 10 layers, each of those represents one of the ingredients of the drink, that mixing together and overlaying one with the others they make its essence and its final taste.
The shape is complex and elegant but at the same time simple and refined, and it remembers the lightness of the steam: a key element of the Bombay Sapphire production method thanks to its function of carrying and merging together all the tastes.
Moreover, it has no risk for children and it is good for the treatment of cutaneous diseases and for the disinfection of the skin. My idea is to use all these natural proprieties of the silver to create a chemical free and long lasting soap.
Furthermore, thanks to its aesthetic proprieties, the silver soap will be a precious must-have for the house.

Blade of Grass

Blade of Grass is an outdoor lighting solution that
takes inspiration from the nature.
The aim was to design a lighting source that could be easily integrated in any natural environment and become part of it. In fact, as well as blades of grass, the form of this lighting source is organic, flexible, dynamic and plantable on the ground.

1st Prize winner of "2nd Outdoor Furniture Contest", Gandia Blasco, Valencia (Spain)

Silver soap

Colloidal silver is known for its antibacterial and antibiotic proprieties. It is effective against 650 kinds of infective disease, and no bacterium, virus or fungal infection can survive after the contact with silver. Nowadays, it is also used as water purification by many flight and space companies such as NASA, and it has no collateral effects or toxicity.
Moreover, it has no risk for children and it is good for the treatment of cutaneous diseases and for the disinfection of the skin. My idea is to use all these natural proprieties of the silver to create a chemical free and long lasting soap.

Phantom Chair

Phantom Chair is my degree project.
It takes inspiration from the fear of the dark: an emotion that, once the light is off, lets us enter a parallel world lived by shadows.
Who ever experienced the fear of the dark knows that every small noise and shadow appears to us like something unknown and alive.

After a deep and serious research about smart materials and what already exists that reacts, lives or appears thanks to light and darkness, (such as works by Ingo Maurer, Cocksedge, Vasarely, Alviani, but also studying behaviours of human’s eye and skin that could be artificially simulated using Smart Materials) I came up with the idea of giving life and ambitions to objects.
At this point, I thought would have been interesting to give life to a chair, or better, to give every cheap chair the possibility to have a second life once dark: as well as happened to Cinderella.
The highest ambition of any common plastic chair is becoming a famous Panton chair, and Phantom Chair will make it possible.
Phantom Chair is a transparent silicon-rubber veil, that in the darkness makes possible the dream of any common and cheap chair drawing on it the silhouette of the Panton using Elettroluminescent Wires.

Energy Bucket

Save energy is one of the most pressing problem. This is already possible, but actual products seem to be too far from people's uses and they require too little interaction to aware people. Energy Bucket is an innovative product that comes from the habit of the past to collect potable water at the well using buckets. In fact, "Energy Bucket" requires to be exposed under the solar light to recharge (thanks to the solar panels on top), so that it can be carried anywhere and illuminate once night.

Uno o Nessuno

Uno o nessuno is the name of this table, that like the name suggests allows only a person at time
to eat.
In fact, it has a mechanism of wire and weights that links all the object each other, so that for
example when a person pick up the knife, it prevents the other to do the same action.
In this way, the table works as a mechanism of interaction.
Done in collaboration with Claudia Taddia
The project has been exhibithed at “Tabula rara” in the “Galleria Rossana Orlandi”, Milan (Italy)
