Fehr Trade was founded in 2005 by Melissa Fehr, but she began to sew and design in earnest from 2001. All her sewing skills are self-taught using a variety of vintage reference books and commercial sewing patterns as technical guides. Melissa draws the inspiration for her designs from the catwalks, high street, Shoreditch street fashion, and personal creativity. Her studio space is in her floating home in Southwark, London (far, far away from her childhood home in Perry County, Pennsylvania). By day, Melissa works in IT and graphic design for a popular online music magazine.

Designs showcased on fehrtrade.com are not available for sale but Melissa does occasionally work on commission for one-off unique pieces. If you are interested in her services, please email enquiries@fehrtrade.com.
