Sona Mirzaei is a contemporary artist who began her career with an auspicious debut on the international art scene after two pieces from her first official collection of work were chosen as finalists for the 2009 London International Creative Competition. She started painting from her early childhood and has been showcased privately and publicly in exhibitions, hotels, television shows, charity auctions, and galleries internationally.

A native of Los Angeles, the elements of diversity and variety are regularly featured in Sona’s work combining her outlook on life with the expression of her many interests including music, classic literature, world history, international politics, philosophy, cinema, fashion, and traveling.

Sona has spent the last couple of years traveling to exhibit her paintings as well as producing her ongoing My Thirteen Commandments, inspired by the traditional Ten Commandments. This endeavor focuses on Sona’s perception of life, faith, and humanity. Are the Ten Commandments truly the most relevant set of core principles for a 21st century society? She has envisioned a pop art, conceptual, collage, mixed media fusion of what she believes would be a more practical list of commandments for the world of today. The exhibition will also feature appropriately dramatic installations of Mount Sinai and the Tree of Knowledge to complete this epic, biblical, artistic, fanciful adventure of Sona’s.

Already in the process of so many projects in production, in addition to various commissions and teaming up with Interior Designers, Sona is always looking for more artistic projects to work on. Including her endeavor to do more Public Art - because she wholeheartedly feels that art should be available to people on a mass level and not subjected to confinement of a museum or gallery. She says " People generally want to be free and outside, so why shouldn't art be as free and accessible to the public." Sona feels that public art is priority in her field and looking to do more of it. Read Less
