Sjoerd ten Kate

Born in the Dutch town of Harderwijk, Sjoerd ten Kate found his passion for Visual Arts at a young age. Already at primary school he attended an Academic class in drawing. After secondary school he began his studies at the School for Graphics at Utrecht followed by Interactive Media Studies in Amsterdam.

After graduation in the summer of 2006, Sjoerd started his professional career in London at digital communication & design agency Red Nomad. He worked as a designer and member of the creative team on projects for clients such as Sony Playstation, eBay, French Connection, the BBC, and Robbie Williams.

In August last year, Sjoerd returned to the Netherlands. His photography speaks for itself and can be summed up as a realistic representation of subjects in strong compositions, with a great eye for the details in their surroundings.
