Sirgo Medeles was born in Cuernavaca Morelos, México in 1979. Since a boy he began his artistic life; before painting he studied cello for seven years. At the age of five years old the painting captured his soul and decided to continue the artistic path in his life and after in his work. He was seventeen years old when began his Sculpture and History of Art studies in Cuernavaca, Mor., mixing his passion for classical music with painting he discovered that emotions are made for everyone and also for him self, using that as a path to follow in his work of art.
Sirgo considers the art as a mirror image of the world through the artist eye but most of all during the artist work; so he has made the painting his partner and confident, working on it all days without exception, almost 10 hours for each session, he thinks that “in order to discover what the painting have to say, we have to be inmortals”.
In his new series “Light beyond” he experiment 13 years of work mixing his knowledge of what an accident could make interesting an abstract painting and his classic formation in human figure. In a world were we forgot that all of us are Adan and Eve, he see that real being who lives inside of us, all their fears and desires; this souls are abducted between two dramatic lights, Sirgo says “…like a purgatory… standing away from fire seeking light, melted in their hands but losing it”.
Sirgo has participated in several collective and individual exhibitions around Mexico such as Collective Exhibition “Nuevas Visiones de Mexico” Museo Dolores Olmedo Mexico 2007 (New Visions in the Art of Mexico, Dolores Olmedo Museum 2007) and Individual Exhibition of paintings & the Mural “Commerce Evolution” at the ExpoReforma CANACO 2004 (CANACO, National Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City 2004) inaugurated by the Last President of Mexico Vicente Fox.
In the latest 2005 he gave “History of Art sessions” on Sky T.V. in Cancùn Q.Roo. (2005).
He also has been giving classes to several students since 2003 in Cuernavaca Mor., Taxco Gro., Mexico City and Cancún Q.Roo.
By an invitation of Mr. Enrique Cataneo, Sirgo participate at “The Studio of Engraving of José Luis Cuevas Museum” for space of 2 years were he knew Artists such as José Luis Cuevas, Vicente Rojo, Roberto Cortázar, Magali Lara and Rafael Coronel with them he open wide his vision of the Art in the Contemporary Mexico. (Cuernavaca Mor. 1998-2000)
At the same time Enrique Catáneo also invited to work with him in the Multiarte Editions, to work on a serigraphic series for Rafael Coronel. (Cuernavaca Mor. 1998-2000).
