I like making good ideas happen. Currently I am Director of Innovation and Research at the Navanti Group. I received my Ph.D. at Columbia University in 2010. I get a twinkle in my eye when hunting, researching, and learning about stuff that requires a creative solution, creating programs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and love being involved with anything centered around sustainable development, education, and empowering people in every which way. I'm crazy about design and design thinking, and believe it plays a vital (not secondary) role in addressing the world's toughest problems.
I'm a huge geek when it comes to connective media, social gaming, films, literature and philosophy, and dork out when the opportunity arises to bridge completely disparate sectors/industries to cross-pollinate awesome-goodness. I have an on-going crush on the phenomena of social movements and how they work (thanks to Chuck Tilly).
I seek out opportunities to figure out how organizations/governments can design *with* people and not just *for* people -- in efforts to build up awesome companies and organizations, and ultimately to help create peaceful and resilient communities. Read Less
