Shi Wei Teh

Artist/ Educator

Singapore City, Singapore
Zen Teh works primarily with film photography. Her photographs are largely shot using medium format camera, with roll films and she develops them herself. Hand crafting her photographs carefully is important to Zen, and it is part of her meditative process in her work creation.

Zen Teh won the Highly Commended Award in the 24th UOB Painting of the Year competition and was selected as an exhibiting artist at the recent Spot Art, Southeast Asia’s first juried platform for promising young artists. As an environmentalist, her work is concerned with issues underlying the changing landscape in Singapore. In 2013, she exhibited at the Singapore Art Museum and National Museum of Singapore, and was recently awarded an artist residency in Angkrit Gallery, Thailand by the Art Incubator.

Zen is both an artist and an educator. As an educator, she strives to share her experience as an art maker in an innovative approach. She believes that effective art learning lies in nurturing the attitude.

Eureka Photography Program

Instructor, Founder of Eureka Photography Program

Be an Artist, an art maker in photography.

Eureka Program is a unique program that combines painting and photography. This approach to education is crucial because the complementary nature of the two mediums will aid the students in their artistic learning. Through painting, students will bring about a different dimension to their photography works by questioning the boundaries of the medium. The program also provides training to equip students with the necessary skills and attitude to be an artist. Hence the program, with its spontaneous and creative approach to teaching photography will bring about excellence in students’ artistic development.
