My images are inspired by dreams, things I have read or seen and by the everyday happenings of life. I like combining various media to create my illustrations, building up the image layer by layer. I have an obsession with creating textures and patterns, using traditional media such as watercolour, ink, acrylic and pencil to do so. I love the way that the mixture of media helps to shape the work and the surprises that it can bring along the way, and the truth is I just love using hands on materials and making a bit of a mess! The only digital process in my work at the moment is the scanning at the end which seems to work for me.
