I received a BA in Painting/Drawing last May and frankly did not know what to do next. I decided to start my own business, called Blank Canvas. I teach art to youth ranging from 5-14 years of age. I try to introduce the terminology and techniques that go into making art, but I mostly encourage the kids to experiment with the materials, make mistakes and have fun. I want art to be considered on the same level of little league baseball and ballet.
On the side, I paint commissions, which tend to be portraits, but I also spend a couple hours a day working on my own work. I paint with acrylic and watercolor. I am in that stage of transition, as I venture away from my under-grad work and see what direction to go in next. Read Less
