Adam Scudder is a third generation craftsman born and raised in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. He grew up on a small family farm, learning those little things you can't appreciate until you leave home. As his father did, Adam set out on his own to learn the craft and now he works out of his studio furniture shop in Maryland, NY. From upstate New York you can enjoy the country life while being within easy reach of New York City and an unlimited demand for creativity. Adam builds anything, so long as it's wood. Even in carpentry he’ll apply the same attention to detail, same focus of skills, as he will when building a custom piece of heirloom furniture.
“I like to build; to make something fine from rough parts, if it's a house of studs or a chair of tapered and bent laminations.” Adam likes that custom work can require innovative solutions and nontraditional materials to meet design criteria.
