I grew up in Albania, a conservative country, which was controlled by communism for over 50 years. To embrace communist values the government instilled the fear of expressing one’s thoughts or innovative ideas in Albanian citizens at a young age. It wasn't until I moved to the U.S. that I began to freely explore the world and express my experiences and passion through art. The art of drawing has been my life companion since I was a child. I am currently attending the School of Visual Arts in NYC and will soon be graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. I am the recipient of the highest scholarship award given by SVA. My areas of interest are broad, however, I love working with charcoal, pencil, graphite pen and computer. I had my first Art Exhibit in NYC when I was 20 years old and I am very excited to be part of such an amazing event put together by RAW Natural Born Artists organization. For starters you have to be honest with yourself because that's where the best art comes from. I am often inspired by the smallest things in life (e.g. someone’s smile, a flower, tears, the sky, the clouds, sounds) but someone’s life can also be inspirational. I think my best work has come from overcoming life challenges. I experience the greatest accomplishment when I am holding a completed art piece that represents a snap shot of the world. The biggest challenge with my type of art is integrating on paper everything that is racing through my head. I continue to be inspired by the fact that anyone can make up their own story using my art work. It is one thing to have a talent for imagination but it's a whole different talent to put it down on paper. Read Less
