Don't grow up. Don't ever grow up. Grown ups sit idle, content in their own knowledge. Discontent breeds discovery, and curiosity is at the heart of creativity. Grown ups tell you that the sky is blue. They tell you that's the truth. Curiosity begs you, why? Who said it can't be red? Some days it's gray. Some days it falls.
Fail. Fail large and fail unashamedly. Fail, pick up the pieces and learn from it. Then push back to the point just before failure.
Never stop. Never be content with your work. Publish it, send it off, but never finish it. Always be willing to reopen it, restart it or build on it. Appropriate it into other work.
Get dirty. Use your hands to make things. The computer is only one tool. Enjoy the tactile nature of reality. Embrace the uncontrollable characteristics of the real. Sameness is dead, in its place, a slightly crooked new day approaches.
