Ryan Hageman is a graphic designer interested in investigating communication at the intersection of language and culture.
He graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and is currently a graphic designer for the Art Institute of Chicago.
He also manages Gurafiku, a website dedicated to the history of Japanese graphic design and is a graduate student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago studying arts administration and policy.
In 2010, he studied graphic design and communication at the Sozosha College of Design in Osaka, Japan, and started Gurafiku
as a way to share his research and findings.
