In the last two years, I have had professional preparation with creating for clients: I was hired by the Board of Directors of a local non-profit to design their new logo. The Portsmouth Pantry Garden approached me, stating "We need a modern image for this new direction the Pantry wants to go in". I had the freedom to design a persona for this community service group, and it was exciting and invigorating. After presenting them with about 15+ different concepts and variants, including a wide selection of type treatments, the board decided on the “Sunflower and Leaf” logo. The design work I did for the Portsmouth Pantry Garden really hit home when I was able to see the logo on the signs/ads of the pantry garden, on their t-shirts, and even on the coffee mugs they were drinking out of.
Over the last year I also worked an Internship for the Center for International Programs and Activities. The university office had never had a graphic designer work for them before, so the Director had a lot of projects she was excited for me complete. I designed a new logo for CIPA, to encompass all the work they do for students studying abroad and also foreign students that come to our cities college to learn. I created a brochure to advertise their work, a legend to describe all of the countries our foreign student body calls home, and I also designed a t-shirt for a local food drive CIPA was in charge of, “Crop Walk”.
