Profile
My work
I make figurative images that are self-referenced and/or about female subjects. I do not intend to create feminist art nor to approach the subject of women’s condition in Colombia. I avoid making closed statements or answering questions through my images. “The point is the impossibility of certainty, not defining a concept”, as Marlene Dumas says.
My domains of interest are the manipulation of the past and the fear, the exorcism of pain through art.

My inspirations
I am inspired by my life experiences, stories about members of my family, my partner; religion, sex, women; catholic iconography and publicity ads, saints and top models; fashion magazines…fashion in general; vintage posters and old illustrated books and encyclopedias; erotic and slightly pornographic pics of women with androgynous and youthful looks/bodies that I find browsing on Internet; painters like Jenny Saville, Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon, Marlene Dumas, Louise Bourgeois, Edgar Degas, Balthus, Egon Schiele, Alex Kanevsky; photographers like Sally Mann, Andres Serrano, Joel Peter Witkin or Rineke Dijkstra; various Flickr artists. Among many other things…”
