Randall Herrera
Creative Director
Minneapolis, MN, USADesign. It exists with or without you, for better or worse, good or bad. It's all around us - in nature, art, culture and in commerce. A good designer does more than create art for the sake of creating. A good designer takes in all the variables and translates them back effectively to create an emotion. A spark. Something memorable. A good designer takes risks. The biggest risk is not taking any. If you don't get noticed, then you don't communicate.

Where it all started. Heavy branding and new business ventures with brands like McDonald's, Iowa Lottery, Ohio Lottery, Scotts Lawn care, Firestone Tires, Mustang, Pella Windows, Iowa Tourism and Ethanol. I look back now and laugh at how much the industry has changed. Back then it was all about outdoor signage, news paper ads and direct mail. My boss at the time let me tag along to video shoots and production. I was then given the opportunity to create a few spots of my own.

This is where I picked up my respect for Direct Mail. I was involved with clients like Pearl Vision, McDonald's, Home Place and Kay Jewelers. Which, I swear I said "Every kiss begins with Kay" as a joke in the room.
