Paris-based photographer Paolo Verzone,was born in Turin, Italy in 1967. Since he has started to take pictures at 18, he has always shared his photography between portraiture and reportage.
In the following years he developed personal projects, among which was the Peshawar project which received the Canon Best Portfolio award and finalist for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award.
He has collaborated on many project with Italian fellow photographer Alessandro Albert. With him, he realised a photo essay on Muscovites, collected in the book Volti di Passaggio This work won the Kodak European Panorama award.
Albert & Verzone’s portrait project Seeuropeans, won an award at World Press Photo 2001 in the portrait singles category. In 2009, Paolo Verzone won the third prize in the sport features story category of the World Press Photo.
As a portraitist and reporter, Verzone works with major magazines such as Newsweek, Time, The Independent, WSJ, Le Monde , Das Magazin, Ventiquattro, Vanity Fair, GQ, Amica, Geo, D della Repubblica, Io Donna. His images are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Paolo Verzone is a member of Agence VU,Paris. Read Less
