Purdi Biography
A native of Australia, Purdi* first studied illustration before graduating from Monash University in 2000 with a BA in Visual Communication-Design.
Purdi* spent 27 years there growing up in a little town called Emerald, where there isn't anywhere to go out, the main attraction is a steam train and where most girls don't shave their legs ... (or their underarms - fortunately Purdi wasn't one of them). But, living in such a town does have its advantages. It helps to develop a style that is unique, highly imaginative and creative.
Purdi* worked as a designer in Melbourne but, like all other Aussies felt the gravitational pull to the UK, and decided to upsticks to see what all the fuss was about. Since then she has worked in London, before settling in Manchester in 2005 as a freelance designer for some of the North Wests top design and marketing agencies.
As an illustrator, Purdi's illustrations are mostly created using textural surfaces and combining paint and collage. She also isn't afraid to keep things simple by using beautifully simplistic linework.
Imaginative, talented and a little quirky at times, Purdi* is a creative with a difference. Whether its by Mac or by hand, she never does things by halves and can make any client’s vision come true.
