Hello! I am a graduating senior at Santa Clara University, working toward dual bachelor’s degrees in Studio Art and Art History. The expected completion date of my undergraduate studies is June 15, 2012.
As far back as I can remember I have enjoyed creating works of art. The studio arts, and oil painting in particular, have been my most ardent passion. At Santa Clara University, I have worked extensively on refining my artistic vision through the use of oil paint. In addition to oil, my skill set includes a breadth of mediums…oil pastel, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic. My subject matter ranges from portraiture and figure drawing, to landscapes and still lifes.
Over the past two years, I have also pursued course work in graphic design, web design, and computer imaging. Last summer I undertook an internship with “The Winery” in San Francisco, wherein I worked on web design, and creating graphics for wine labels and event fliers.
I chose to attend Santa Clara University because it emphasizes educating “the whole person” in the Jesuit tradition. While my declared majors are in the art department, my educational career has been equally focused on “core” classes in literature, math, science, ethics, and religious studies which have prepared me to think creatively and critically, problem solve proficiently, and communicate effectively.
Following my time at Santa Clara I would love a position where I am able to use my creative mind and the many skills I have developed through my experience at Santa Clara University and beyond. I feel confident that with my strong creative skill set and educational experience, I would excel at any design and/or concept art position.
Hope you enjoy browsing through my portfolio of work!
