Peter Morris

Lincoln, NE, USA
I have 20 years of working in the advertising/ marketing industry. I've developed brands and campaigns for national and local companies as well as recognized work for universities and colleges. It doesn’t matter what business segment I've worked for, I continue to win awards for the high standards and effectiveness of my communication strategies.

More important than awards, however, is the successful business relationships I continue to develop with business and community leaders.

Back to work with the big boys.
February 2013 - Present Nebraska, United States

Local Hero Design

Creative Director

It's a small shop, so I'm involved in it all. Brand development, marketing strategies, design, illustration and photography.
August 2008 - January 2013 Lincoln, Nebraska, United States

University Of Nebraska

Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design

I taught intermediate graphic design to a group of great students. It was challenging to keep people engaged for 2-3 hours a night, but it was also quite rewarding. I loved guiding someone to a great idea and seeing them apply it to real world scenarios.

Nebraska Department Of Economic Development

Economic Development Consultant

The majority of my time was spent as brand manager for the department. Overseeing collateral, trade pub advertisements, annual reports, events and trade show graphics were just a part of my duties. I worked directly with writers, photographers, division heads, IT and vendors to coordinate successful campaigns.

One of my biggest accomplishments in this position was the overhaul of the department's website. A complete rework of the information architecture, emphasizing user experience and needs over internal politics.

In addition to the creative work, I moved the department away from its originating unorganized state, by developing production systems and schedules. I’ve acquired a great degree of knowledge about business development and government operations.

Bailey Lauerman

Senior Designer

As a senior designer for BLA, I worked with the agency's highest profile clients. I was an intergal team member involved in the development of national campaigns including outdoor, ambient, electronic and print messaging. Creating new corporate collateral systems was an additional responsibility. My collaboration was key in integrating designs into new media applications.

Other duties included presenting solutions to in-house teams as well as clients in either conference calls or face-to-face meetings. In addition to my technical expertise, I’m adept at developing productive, successful work relationships with clients as well as my peers.

My work for these clients gained regional and national recognition in the advertsing and insurance marketing industries.

Swanson Russell

Freelance Designer

Freelance work for an agency is about being a hired gun, called in at crunch time to perform at the top of your game with established teams for brief periods of time. The work was always challenging and fresh. The bulk of my work revolved around design for Christmas catalogs, direct mail and in-store promotional material.
2001 - 2003 Lincoln, Nebraska, United States

Summa Cum Laude Communications

Art Director

SCL is a small creative shop specializing in higher education marketing. During my tenure, I honed my skills in all areas of production and gained an understanding of an ever-changing demographic. I often worked with clients to fully realize multiple campaign pieces. These pieces increased enrollment and elevated the school’s image. Projects typically started with meetings to assess client needs and budgets. Conducting focus groups as well as research and development of relevant strategies were also essential job functions. I worked closely with designers, artists and photographers to ensure all aspects of the project met SCL’s creative standards as well as those dictated by the client.

My work for these schools has been recognized regionally for high production values and nationally for marketing effectiveness.
