So often I get projects that need an idea on the fly, and execution immediately following...these are what I call "strike on box" projects. That would pretty much describe the bulk of my projects and this outdoor design was no exception. Not much lead time, and sadly not many hours available to let it gel. I do what I can though. This board needed to announce 2 completely unrelated events. Other than splitting the board down the middle, what can you do? This little doodle was a "brain bubble" I had. Why not create an "environment" for the messages, shared of course, and then do some very quick, down and dirty letter art for the main messages. That would allow me to ditch the tired old song of "photo boxes" to shoe the events (ugh!) and chasing down said photos. Now...let's see if the client approves, yeah?

And here's the design I've pitched. No clip are was killed in the making of this piece. Other than some mild textures, and a font that I manipulated to suit the piece, the baby is 100% custom vector work with some mild photoshopping the finish it off. I don't know...for a "strike on box" project...I kinda like it!
